Adjacent to Carolina Beach is one of nature's most inviting environments. Carolina Beach State Park is a great setting for bird watching and observing animals in their natural settings. Bordered by the Cape Fear River, this easy-to-reach park is a favorite of both tourists and locals. It's a great spot for an old-fashioned picnic with its freshwater lake, gazebos, sheltered picnic area and great playground equipment.
